Salary Range: $13.21 Helper/ $15.85-$25.09 Apprentice

Description: MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Helper:
High School Diploma or GED
6-12 months experience in electrical construction
6-12 Experience in the Electrical field
Requires a Valid Driver’s License or CDL Learner’s Permit, Class “A” (subject to motor vehicle review) Learners permit is to be validated to CDL license within (6) months from date of employment.
Enrollment in the Apprenticeship Program is required in accordance with standards
Apprentice:
Vocational/Specialized Training
1-2 Years experience in Electrical Construction
1-2 years experience in electrical field
Knowledge in utility operations preferred
Valid Commercial Driver’s License, Class “A” (Subject to motor vehicle review)
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES:
Helper:
Assists in the construction, operation and maintenance of electric transmission lines and distribution lines under supervision of the foreman or Line Maintainer Journeyman.
Climbs poles to install wires, line hardware, insulators, cross arms, wooden timbers, and any other apparatus.
Safety is priority and requires tailgate sessions scheduled by the lead person or foreman.
Uses all Personnel Protective Equipment assigned to perform any/all tasks assigned.
Assists the Electric Line crew in ground level work and general labor work.
Assist with setting electric line poles and stringing wires.
Ground level work which including preparation of the job site, delivering working tools or equipment to the line crew clearing debris from the working area, loading and unloading of material and other work required.
Assists in maintain inventory of test equipment.
Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
Apprentice:
Assists in the construction, operation and maintenance of electric transmission and distribution lines under close supervision of a qualified Line Maintainer Journeyman or those of high classification
Climbs poles to install wires, line hardware, insulators, crossarms, wooden timber and any other apparatus.
Patrols electric lines
Repairs electric distribution systems and substations in order to maintain service to customers.
Learns the operation of a digger truck and usage of lineman tools.
Troubleshoots overhead and underground circuits.
Assists in switching and restoring service on distribution lines and substations.
Assists in maintain inventory of test equipment
Assists in investigating customer complaints pertaining to voltage problems, required to climb poles, ect and takes corrective action.
Performs other related duties as assigned or requested
